Stouffville, ON - (Sunday, September 10, 2006) - Peter Gibbons' third race in Quebec
ended with a fifth place finish. The Cascar Teams took to the 4/10 mile track just outside
Montreal, for a 200 lap event at Autodrome St. Eustache.
During the Canadian Tire/Monroe Brakes Chevy qualifying run Saturday night Gibbons
picked up something on the race track resulting in a flat tire, the Chevy driver held on to qualify
11th.
Gibbons raced his way up to the fifth position at the conclusion of the race, but not without a lot of
attention from his pit crew. Along the way he pitted on 6 different occasions, giving his Canadian
Tire crew lots of opportunity to do what they do best, go over the wall.
Gibbons took advantage of the numerous cautions by pitting to make adjustments on the car. In the
end Gibbons was able to earn the Hard Charger Award for advancing the most postions and posting
another top five finish.
"The crew had a good workout tonight, the cars handling was not up to par, so we took
every chance we had to work on it, my guys did an excellent job in the pits."
Gibbons and crew have one final race for the 2006 season next weekend at the Kawartha
Speedway, in Peterborough, ON.
Race Summary: Windsor, ON driver Ron Beauchamp Jr., won the race, followed by DJ Kennington,
and Mark Dilley.
