Mooresville, NC-(April 9, 2007) - After months of hard work by the Gibbons Motorsports crew, Peter Gibbons hit the 4/10 oval of Caraway Speedway, to test the old and the new.
The first task for Gibbons was to break in the brand new Hess Racing house car. “Billy (Hess) approached us last year about driving one of his cars and we are glad we are able to get it to the track and get prepared to race it at Cayuga.”
Once car chief Jeremy Noon was satisfied with how the Hess car debuted, Gibbons hopped into his own GMS chassis. The main objective of this test was to give the brakes a good workout, “We had so many brake problems last year, we cannot afford to have that happen again this season.” Peter said. He stayed out on the track for about 150 laps to try and repeat the troubles that had plagued him in 06.
Peter was extremely pleased with the results and found that the brakes held up well under such drastic conditions. “I was so hard on the brakes, I wanted to abuse them and see how they reacted, they held up great.”
This is just one of the many tests that the Gibbons Motorsports Team will have in preparation for the 2007 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series opener next month.
