Stouffville, ON - (June 17, 2007) - Peter Gibbons driver of the Monroe Brakes/Mastercraft
Chevrolet qualified 6th for the second NASCAR Canadian Tire Series event of 2007.
In the race held this past Fathers Day weekend, at the Mosport International Road Course
Gibbons ran in the top 3 for most of the 200 km behind young guns, J.R. Fitzpatrick and
Andrew Ranger.
The Monroe Brakes/Mastercraft driver fought hard, but slid back to fifth near the
end of the race when his car started to get loose, with only a couple of laps remaining, the
02 of Kerry Micks went off the track in front of him and Gibbons found himself in 4th place
and second in points.
"We brought out another new Hess Race Car and were pleased with its performance, we still
have a few bugs to work out of it for the next road course event in Edmonton." Said Gibbons.
RACE SUMMARY : # 27 Andrew Ranger went on to win, followed by J.R. Fitzpatrick,
third place went to Ron Beauchamp Jr.
Ranger became the current points leader (345) with Peter Gibbons second (330), and
Mark Dilley third (325).
The next race for the NASCAR Canadian Tires Series is July 1st at the Barrie Speedway.
